Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The National Youth Commission (NAYCOM) has on 17th October 2023 officially introduced Ahmed Atta Mansaray Esq as its new Commissioner. The ceremonial handover occurred at NAYCOM\u2019s headquarters in Freetown, where staff members gathered to witness this historic moment.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Siafa Jobson Momoh, NAYCOM\u2019s Board Chairman, took the opportunity to underscore the importance of teamwork and cohesion within the Commission. He also extended his gratitude to the outgoing Commissioner, Ngolo Katta, for his exemplary work over the years.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Ngolo Katta, who has now completed his tenure, shared the Commission\u2019s achievements and recognized the indispensable roles played by the staff during his leadership. He remarked, \u201cI have served as your leader for several years, motivating and driving you to attain the desired outcomes for the Commission\u2019s improvement. I now pass the baton to the new Commissioner, who is also a colleague.\u201d<\/p>\n

Katta concluded by expressing his appreciation to the NAYCOM staff and encouraged Commissioner Ahmed Atta Mansaray to contact him whenever the Commission requires his assistance.<\/p>\n

In his address, Commissioner Ahmed Atta Mansaray Esq highlighted recent developments within the Commission and called for resolution. He urged everyone to make use of his office, underscoring its accessibility to all. He stressed the significance of adopting a transition framework to address youth-related issues in Sierra Leone and urged staff to collaborate as a team, exchange experiences, recount the Commission\u2019s growth, and formulate solutions that enhance the prospects of young people.<\/p>\n

Commissioner Atta also shared insights into his prior experience in the youth sector, where he served as a Project Manager and Head of Media and Communications at the Ministry of Youth Affairs. He conveyed his awareness of the Commission\u2019s strengths and challenges and expressed his enthusiasm for serving as the Commissioner of Youth. He appealed for utmost cooperation from all NAYCOM staff.<\/p>\n
