Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The United Nations Resident Coordinator in Sierra Leone, Babatunde Ahonsi has commended the government over the rollout of the first national climate resilience and energy transition dialogue.<\/p>\n

<\/a>The dialogue which took place at the Freetown City Council on Monday 23 October 2023, was officially opened by President Bio as the country\u2019s first National Dialogue aimed at \u201cDeveloping a Just and Inclusive Energy Transition Plan for Sierra Leone in the Context of Climate Resilience and Sustainable Food Systems.\u201d<\/p>\n

The UN Resident Coordinator maintained that the dialogue would help greatly in the progress towards developing bankable projects in the country that may improve the lives of the citizens, adding that it can also access the growing streams of international climate finance opportunities.\u201cI expressed hope that the ongoing first national climate resilience and energy transition dialogue will help Sierra Leone progress towards developing bankable projects that enable it to use its impressive natural assets to access the growing streams of international climate finance opportunities\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
