Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Sierra Leone\u2019s President Dr Julius Maada Bio has in his new year message to Sierra Leoneans on January 1st 2024, assured the people of a better and more comfortable future as his government take steps to tackle the country\u2019s economic crisis.<\/b><\/p>\n

Addressing the current economic situation in the country, President Bio assured that his government has taken decisive actions to mitigate its effect. This decisions, according to Bio, will profoundly change Sierra Leone\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

President Bio emphasized the 2024 budget, which he described as a testament to their unwavering dedication. He disclosed that it strategically focused on providing robust Social Safety Net to protect the most vulnerable amongst the people. This budget, he noted, is not just a fiscal plan but a solemn vow to uplift every Sierra Leonean, especially those in dire need.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt embodies a comprehensive and resilient strategy designed not just to weather the storm but to guide our nation towards greater strength and resilience.\u201d Bio noted.<\/p>\n

President Bio stated that 2024 is welcoming, as it marks a significant milestone in our journey as a nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis year serves a demonstration of our resilience and commitment to forging a path of progress and peace. I\u2019m immensely proud that for only the second time in our storied history, Sierra Leone has been honored with a seat in the United Nations Security Council\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

This, he said is not merely a recognition for personal achievement but a clear acknowledgement of the country\u2019s steadfast dedication to global peace and security.<\/p>\n
