Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Sierra Leone National Home Team\u2019s head coach, Alhaji Foray, has conceded his team\u2019s inexperience after a humbling 5-1 defeat to former African champions Ivory Coast.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking after the match, Foray acknowledged the gulf in class but vowed that his team would learn from their mistakes. \u201cWe were outplayed by a superior team,\u201d he admitted. \u201cInexperience cost us today, but we have learned a valuable lesson.\u201d<\/p>\n

He promised that the team would not make the same mistakes again. \u201cThis will never happen again,\u201d he declared. \u201cWe will come back stronger and better prepared.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foray also took the opportunity to wish Ivory Coast, nicknamed the Elephants, the best of luck in their upcoming hosting of the Nations Cup. \u201cWe wish them all the best in the tournament,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Rodney Michael Jr., who captained the Home Team, echoed Foray\u2019s sentiments about the need for improvement. \u201cSilly mistakes cost us today,\u201d he said. \u201cWe weren\u2019t organized in the first half, but the second half was much better.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael Jr. also called for more experienced players to be brought into the team in the future. \u201cWe need more experience if we are to compete at this level,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The heavy defeat against Ivory Coast serves as a wake-up call for the National Home Team. While Foray\u2019s vow to learn and improve is encouraging, the team will need to address their shortcomings quickly if they are to challenge for success in the future.<\/p>\n
