Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Minister Fanday Turay ESQ, the Minister of Transport and Aviation, recently engaged in a successful meeting with Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, the Mayor of Freetown City Council, along with representatives from the council. <\/b><\/p>\n

The focal point of this meeting was the World Bank Africa Integrated Rural Mobility Program (IRUMP) project.<\/p>\n

Following the meeting, Minister Fanday expressed gratitude to Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and the Freetown City Council for their constructive deliberations. He conveyed optimism about the collaborative efforts in addressing prevalent urban mobility challenges, particularly those related to public transport services, through sustainable solutions.<\/p>\n

The Minister emphasized the significance of the partnership in tackling existing issues within urban mobility. With a keen focus on the World Bank Africa IRUMP Project, the discussions revolved around strategies to enhance public transportation services for the benefit of the community.<\/p>\n

In a statement, Minister Fanday Turay stated, \u201cThank you, Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr and Freetown City Council, for the productive deliberations. We are optimistic that our collaboration on the World Bank Africa IRUMP Project would enable us to address existing urban mobility issues, especially public transport services, with sustainable solutions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlighting a specific initiative, the Minister shared plans for the imminent launch of the WakaFine Bus operations scheduled for early February this year. The introduction of WakaFine Bus operations is anticipated to be a significant step toward providing efficient and reliable public transportation services, contributing to the overall improvement of urban mobility in the region.<\/p>\n
