Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority has notified the public that a significant number of travel agents are currently operating without proper registration with the Authority, and some are doing so with expired licenses.<\/b><\/p>\n

The release confirms that pursuant to section 15 of the Civil Aviation Act, 2023.<\/p>\n

(1) the Authority shall be responsible for civil aviation in Sierra Leone and the implementation and and enforcement of this Act and regulations made under it and the Obligations of Sierra Leone under the Chicago Convention and other applicable international agreement.\u201d.<\/p>\n

( 2) Without Prejudice to the generality of subsection (1) the Authority shall have responsibility to..\u201d<\/p>\n

(bb) certify and regulate air travel agencies.<\/p>\n

In compliance with the above provision of the Civil Aviation Act, 2023 and the standards of the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Regulations, Travel Agents operating illegally in Sierra Leone are urged to Regularize their status with the Sierra Leone Civil Aviation Authority on or before 12th February 2024.<\/p>\n
