Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma may be allowed to leave Sierra Leone today on medical grounds, Sierraloaded has learnt.<\/b><\/p>\n

This follows an application by his Lawyers seeking a review of his bail conditions to enable him to travel out of Sierra Leone for medical attention for ninety days.<\/p>\n

If the High Court order is granted, former President Koroma who was charged for his alleged involvement in the 26th November failed attempted coup will likely not appear in Court for the continuation of his trial.<\/p>\n

Sierraloaded reported on Monday that the former President Koroma has been battling with hypertension, diabetes and cardiac problems. But over the last two months since his alleged involvement in a coup, his health condition has worsened.<\/p>\n

A medical doctor\u2019s report indicates that former President Ernest Bai Koroma has been having severe chest pain lately and requires a medical procedure that cannot be done in Sierra Leone. According to the report, the former president risks having a severe heart attack if he is not immediately treated for the said ailments.<\/p>\n

The application matter comes up for hearing today Wednesday, January 17th at the High Court before Appeals Court Judge, Hon. Justice S.O. Taylor.<\/p>\n

However, the outcome of the bail application is not yet known.<\/p>\n
