In a communique issued this morning, ECOWAS expressed admiration for the humanitarian gesture extended by Sierra Leone\u2019s authorities, emphasizing its positive impact on the well-being of both Sierra Leone and the broader ECOWAS region.<\/p>\n

The regional body renewed its commitment to providing unwavering support to the government and citizens of Sierra Leone. ECOWAS pledged to stand by the nation\u2019s endeavors to promote peace, security, and the advancement of democracy and good governance.<\/p>\n

President Bio, addressing the nation on Thursday, clarified that the decision to allow the former President to travel for specialized medical reasons was driven by humanitarian considerations.<\/p>\n
