Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Joseph Abdulai Kamara and Abdul Rahman Kamara, also known as Morinho, find themselves in custody on accusations of stealing a Toyota Land Cruiser ambulance belonging to the military in Waterloo.<\/b><\/p>\n

The businessman, Joseph Abdulai Kamara, aged 39, and the bike rider, Abdul Rahman Kamara, aged 32, are facing trial at Pademba Road Magistrate Court No 2 before Magistrate Santigie Bangura on four charges, including conspiracy, larceny, and malicious damage.<\/p>\n

Upon the reading of the charges by the court clerk, both accused individuals pleaded not guilty to all counts.<\/p>\n

Representing the accused persons, Lawyer G.M. Gengo appeared in court, while Police Prosecutor A. Conteh handled the case. Unfortunately, Conteh faced difficulties progressing with the case due to the absence of prosecution witnesses in court. Consequently, he requested a short adjournment from Magistrate Bangura to confer with his witnesses for the next hearing.<\/p>\n

In response, Jengo sought bail for his clients, asserting that they have credible sureties residing within the jurisdiction. He pointed out that the prosecution had yet to serve them with an affidavit detailing the charges against the accused persons.<\/p>\n

Conteh, in reply, requested at least twenty-four hours to provide the defence counsel with the necessary documents.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Bangura, refraining from granting bail, ordered that Abdulai and Abdul Rahman be held in custody at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Centre in Freetown. The case was adjourned to January 31, 2024.<\/p>\n
