Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>During the Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MOICE) weekly press briefing, Minister Chernor Bah addressed concerns surrounding the potential shutdown of Karpowership due to payment disputes.<\/p>\n

He stated, \u201cSince the increase in electricity tariffs in 2023, the government has been consistent in the payment of the $50 million arrears. The government has already paid the first installment of $12 million to Karpowership.\u201d<\/p>\n

Minister Bah refuted the news circulating about Karpowership threatening to shut down, asserting that the information is not true.<\/p>\n

He emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to meeting its financial obligations and ensuring the continuous supply of electricity to the nation<\/p>\n
