Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>In a recent MOICE weekly press briefing, the Minister of Technical and Higher Education, Dr. Ramatulai Wurie, announced that the much-awaited Sierra Leone Grant-in-Aid list is scheduled to be published by the close of business on February 6, 2024.<\/p>\n

Expressing gratitude for the public\u2019s patience, Dr. Wurie revealed that more than 3000 students are expected to be beneficiaries of the SLG.<\/p>\n

Despite the impending phase-out of the Grant-in-Aid program, Dr. Wurie assured that specific components will be reserved for deserving groups. Notably, provisions will be made for female STEM students, individuals with disabilities, and the children of teachers.<\/p>\n

The Minister emphasized the government\u2019s commitment to inclusivity and ensuring equal opportunities for education.<\/p>\n

Moreover, Dr. Wurie disclosed plans for the gradual implementation of a Student Loan program, aiming to extend financial assistance to a broader spectrum of students. This initiative aligns with the government\u2019s vision to support education accessibility and affordability.<\/p>\n

To encourage sustained support for the Student Loan Scheme, an investment conference will be organized.<\/p>\n
