Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The President of Christ the King College Old Boys Association (COBA), Mohamed Bangalie, delivered a resounding call for unity and collaboration among alumni during the culmination of the college\u2019s platinum jubilee celebration. Addressing attendees at a special thanksgiving mass held at the Immaculate Heart St. Francis Xavier Parish in Bo emphasizing on the importance of solidarity for the betterment of the school and the community.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his speech, Bangalie acknowledged the occasional discord within the COBA community but urged members to prioritize reconciliation and harmony. \u201cI call on all chapters, branches, classes, and individuals to seek peace and unity and work together to make our college great again. CKC needs our collective and undivided patronage to move forward,\u201d he implored.<\/p>\n

Bangalie outlined a comprehensive five-year development plan, focusing on key pillars such as infrastructure rehabilitation, advancements in science and technology, investment in sports, capacity building, and entrepreneurship. He emphasized the necessity of collective effort from the entire CKC community to realize these ambitious goals.<\/p>\n

Reflecting on the college\u2019s seventy years of existence, Bangalie commended its legacy of producing outstanding individuals who excel in various fields. He expressed gratitude to notable alumni and institutions for their contributions to the school\u2019s development, citing examples such as Hon. Rado Yokie, Dr. Austine Demby, Hon. Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, Hon. Sengehpor Thomas, and Hon. Mohamed Lamin Tarawallie, among others, as well as institutions like Leone Rock and EDSA for their financial support.<\/p>\n

Bangalie called upon current CKC students to foster a supportive environment among themselves, urging them to prioritize camaraderie over division. He reassured attendees of his unwavering commitment to restoring CKC\u2019s prominence and urged others to emulate the examples of generosity and service demonstrated by distinguished Cobians.<\/p>\n

The address concluded with a renewed sense of optimism and determination among the CKC community, as they pledged to unite behind Bangalie\u2019s vision for the college\u2019s future.<\/p>\n
