Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Electoral Commission of Sierra Leone (ECSL) has in a press statement released the date for the conduct of Paramount Chief Members of Parliament (PCMP) elections in Pujehun and Kenema Districts.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Commission has informed the public that pursuant to section 39 (1) of The Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act no 6 of 1991) it has received a notification letter from the office of the Clerk of Parliament notifying the Commission about vacancies in the PCMP seats for Pujehun and Kenema districts respectively.<\/p>\n

This according to the letter of notification is a result of the sudden death of a) PCMP PC Boima Victor Sidee Kebbie 111 of Malen Chiefdom, Pujehun district which sad event took place on Sunday 14th August 2023 at his residence, and b) PCMP PC Foday Steven Kpakra-Faba of Dodo Chiefdom, Kenema district which sad event took place on Monday 23rd October 2023.<\/p>\n

The Sierra Leone Electoral Commission has set the schedule for the 2024 Paramount Chief Members of Parliament (PCMP) Bye-Elections:<\/p>\n

Nomination of candidates: March 20-21, 2024<\/p>\n

Polling and counting: April 20, 2024<\/p>\n

This announcement follows the powers granted to the Commission by the Constitution and relevant electoral acts.<\/p>\n
