Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The United Nations International Children\u2019s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has donated 50 new laptops to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) in Sierra Leone. <\/b><\/p>\n

This donation aims to support the implementation of Electronic Stock Management (e-SMT) systems in 44 peripheral health units across Bonthe, Kailahun, Karene, and Koinadugu districts.<\/p>\n

UNICEF collaborated with BMZ and GIZ to secure this donation. The laptops will enhance data management and improve the overall efficiency of e-SMT systems in these healthcare facilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis donation is a significant step towards strengthening e-SMT in Sierra Leone,\u201d said a UNICEF representative. \u201cWith these laptops, health workers will have better tools to track and manage essential medical supplies, ensuring they are available when needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to the laptop donation, UNICEF also announced ongoing partnerships with the Government of Japan, UNOPS_SL, the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, and Guma Valley Water Company. These partnerships focus on improving access to clean drinking water in Freetown and providing emergency nutrition support for children under five.<\/p>\n

This initiative highlights UNICEF\u2019s commitment to improving healthcare delivery systems and ensuring access to essential services in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n
