Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Leone Stars and Queens Park Rangers defender Osman Kakay has announced his departure from the club after 19 years of service. The Sierra Leone international confirmed the news via social media, bidding farewell to his boyhood club.<\/b><\/p>\n

Kakay, a product of the QPR academy, joined the club at the age of eight and progressed through the youth ranks. He made his first-team debut in 2016 and went on to make over 100 appearances for the R\u2019s.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s time to say goodbye to my boyhood club,\u201d Kakay wrote on Facebook. \u201cFrom the age of seven I\u2019ve called QPR my home and I\u2019m forever grateful for everything the club has done for me and my family. Coming through the academy and eventually going on to make over 100 appearances for the club means so much to me, especially being a local boy growing up in South Kilburn.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kakay\u2019s career at QPR included loan spells at Chesterfield, Livingston, and Partick Thistle. He established himself as a first-team regular in the 2020\/21 season, making 28 appearances in the Championship.<\/p>\n

Following a dip in playing time under manager Mark Warburton in the 2021\/22 season, Kakay regained his place in the starting lineup until the arrival of Marti Cifuentes in October 2023. With QPR now seemingly safe from relegation, Kakay\u2019s departure paves the way for a potential summer transfer.<\/p>\n

The club expressed their gratitude to Kakay for his dedication and service, wishing him all the best for his future endeavors.<\/p>\n
