Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Kailahum District Descendant Association in their consultative meeting with other stakeholders discusses the strides to take in the Yenga dispute between Sierra Leone and Guinea.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Association lamented that they do not want any war between Sierra Leone and Guinea over Yenga, and that the Government should continue to push for a diplomatic solution to resolve the matter.<\/p>\n

The Association also deliberated on issues ranging from the Government Infrastructure Projects in Kailahun District, the Government\u2019s Big Five Implementation, and the Fight Against Drug Abuse at the CCSL Conference Center at Kinghaman Road in Freetown.<\/p>\n

The meeting brought together key district stakeholders who agreed on the aforementioned topics and recommendations.<\/p>\n

They claimed that the association should continue to remain politically neutral and resilient as the soul of the District so that it would outlive all political dispensations to continue to anchor unity, Love, and promote the Welfare of Kailahun descendants, and support the development of Kailahun District as a whole, thereby strengthening the Chiefdom Chapters to identify Chiefdom developmental needs and coordinate them with the Council for inclusion in Council\u2019s development plans.<\/p>\n

In his submission, Retired AIG Lengor recognized the government\u2019s development strive in the district, noting the construction of the Kailahun-Buedu road, electrification of Kailahun township, and pipe-borne water among others. He also encouraged citizens of the district to abstain from all illegal drug transactions, especially among youths.<\/p>\n
