Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The Commissioner of the National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA), Ambassador Ernest Mbaimba Ndomahina, held a high-level meeting with the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Honourable Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, on Tuesday to discuss critical aspects of Sierra Leone\u2019s development agenda, capacity building, and the rebranding efforts of NaCSA.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Ambassador Ndomahina outlined NaCSA\u2019s alignment with President Julius Maada Bio\u2019s \u201cBig Five Game Changers\u201d initiative, emphasizing the commission\u2019s ongoing work with the government and donor partners to implement social relief programs aimed at alleviating poverty and promoting sustainable community development.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner highlighted several key projects under NaCSA\u2019s mandate, including the Sierra Leone Community Demand-Driven Project (SLCDDP-GIENTRENK), which is funded by the Islamic Development Bank to reduce poverty and improve rural livelihoods. Other notable programs include the PSSNYE project, co-funded by the Government of Sierra Leone and the World Bank, which aims to expand social safety nets and income opportunities for 100,000 beneficiaries, and the government-funded Community Demand-Driven Project (CDDP), focusing on rural infrastructure development.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Ndomahina also discussed the Rapid Community Development Initiative (RACODI), which aims to bridge the gap between citizens and the government through small-scale community projects, and the Promotion of Pro-Poor Growth for Peace Consolidation and Youth Empowerment (GPCYE) program, designed to boost youth employment and income.<\/p>\n

In response, Honourable Ibrahim Tawa Conteh, in his dual capacity as Deputy Speaker and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), praised NaCSA\u2019s operational efficiency and its contributions to the country\u2019s development. \u201cNaCSA\u2019s transition under the leadership of Ambassador Ndomahina has been remarkable. The Commission is effectively delivering on its pro-poor mandate, aligning with the goals of the Medium-Term National Development Plan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The meeting concluded with remarks from Susan Robert, Senior Director for Programme Development and Quality Assurance at NaCSA, who praised the Deputy Speaker\u2019s leadership and expressed confidence in Ambassador Ndomahina\u2019s ability to lead the commission in fulfilling the President\u2019s vision for national development.<\/p>\n
