Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>In a groundbreaking initiative to promote peace, cooperation, and community development, the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) officially launched the National Dialogue Platform in Bo City today.<\/p>\n

This significant event brought together a diverse cross-section of stakeholders, including religious leaders, civil society representatives, traditional authorities, and youth leaders, under the theme of strengthening Community-Police partnerships.<\/p>\n

The event also served as a platform to showcase the Police\u2019s ongoing commitment to peacebuilding through targeted interventions such as the Rollout Training on Conflict Prevention and Frontline Negotiation.<\/p>\n

Conducted in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Peacebuilding Fund, the initiative aims to empower youth bike riders as sustainable agents of peace in Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n

This program underscores the Police\u2019s dedication to fostering dialogue and collaboration across all levels of society.<\/p>\n

The program commenced with a solemn call to order by the event\u2019s Chairperson, followed by an inspiring silent prayer session that set a reflective tone for the day.<\/p>\n

The welcoming address, delivered by Chief Superintendent of Police Mrs. Bernadette Sia Sandy, Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Bo East Division, emphasized the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding in fostering security and stability in the region.<\/p>\n

Key highlights included speeches from prominent figures such as the Resident Minister, representatives from the Religious Council, and leaders from the Local Policing Partnership Boards (LPPB) of both the Bo East and Bo West Divisions.<\/p>\n

These addresses reinforced the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to maintain peace and address community challenges through collaboration and innovation.<\/p>\n

The Director of Training at the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), Miss Asanatu Mansaray, captivated the audience with her insights on capacity-building and strategic leadership within the Police force. Her remarks highlighted the importance of professionalism and community-focused approaches in modern law enforcement.<\/p>\n

The program culminated in a keynote address by the Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mr. Brima Kanneh.<\/p>\n

He underscored the significance of communication and trust between the Police and the public, reaffirming the SLP\u2019s commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for all citizens. He also encouraged community members to actively participate in shaping a peaceful future.<\/p>\n
