Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>The National Public Health Agency (NPHA), with support from the Global Fund and its Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) partners, has donated a projector and a laptop to the Sierra Leone Police Hospital in recognition of the facility\u2019s strong performance in Infection Prevention and Control standards.<\/b><\/p>\n

The equipment was presented on behalf of the Global Fund and IPC partners by Mr. Ralph Williams, who said the donation forms part of NPHA\u2019s ongoing support to health institutions that demonstrate consistent compliance with IPC protocols.<\/p>\n

According to him, the items are intended to enhance staff training, data presentation, clinical coordination and administrative efficiency at the Police Hospital.<\/p>\n

Mr. Williams noted that the donation reflects NPHA\u2019s commitment to strengthening health systems through targeted support, especially for facilities that uphold high standards in patient and staff safety. He said effective IPC practices remain critical to improving healthcare outcomes and preventing the spread of infections within health facilities.<\/p>\n

Receiving the items on behalf of the Sierra Leone Police Hospital, the Medical Superintendent, ASP Dr. John Mumuneh Konteh, expressed appreciation to NPHA and its partners, describing the donation as \u201ctimely and thoughtful.\u201d He said the gesture serves as recognition of the hospital\u2019s sustained efforts to improve service delivery and maintain strong health safety practices.<\/p>\n

Dr. Konteh assured NPHA and its partners that the projector and laptop will be used strictly for their intended purposes. He said the equipment will support staff capacity building, IPC awareness programmes, clinical presentations and overall operational management at the facility.<\/p>\n

He attributed the hospital\u2019s progress in meeting IPC standards to the leadership of the Inspector General of Police and the Executive Management Board. According to Dr. Konteh, their continued commitment to improving Police medical services has led to measurable gains in healthcare delivery for Police personnel, their dependents and members of surrounding communities.<\/p>\n

The donation, NPHA officials said, further strengthens collaboration between national health authorities and the Sierra Leone Police medical services. It reflects the shared goal of promoting safe, modern and responsive healthcare delivery, while reinforcing the link between strong IPC practices and improved patient and staff safety across the health system.<\/p>\n
