Africa-Press – Sierra-Leone. <\/strong><\/span>Famous Sierra Leonean Writer Vickie Remoe has expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the Language Arts teacher at Glory Baptist International Academy in Ogoo Farm, Mr. Philemon Dennis Kamara for inviting her to meet and share her Sierra Leone Culture books with them.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Vickie confessed that when she wrote these books she never imagined they would be of interest to children in Junior Secondary School.<\/p>\n

She was amazed as students who are in their early teens can still find value in a first reader meant for kindergarten and first grade.She hopes they can soon get to a place in this country where more and more of their children have a mastery of the English language that is meant to use as an official language.<\/p>\n

The writer believes Sierra Leone has a long way to go in terms of developing literacy and reading skills in children.However, she is glad that at least they have begun a journey.She concluded her engagement with children by donating books, reading, asking questions, and doing the best she could to share Sierra Leone\u2019s Culture.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren in Salone today don\u2019t know much more about culture as those growing up outside. We have a lot of work to do family\u2026a lot! let\u2019s keep doing and working together.\u201d She stated Remoe\u2019s publication, \u201cAdama Loves Akara\u201d popularity has transcended Sierra Leone.<\/p>\n
