Africa-Press – South-Africa. Mpumalanga police have arrested a 25-year-old woman after a stolen police firearm with live rounds was found in the wardrobe of her home.
According to police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, police traced a stolen firearm to the woman’s home after a Gauteng-based officer was robbed on Saturday.
The officer, travelling with a female companion, stopped at a post office in Shatale, near Bushbuckridge, at 1:00 and was robbed by two people.

The matter was reported to the police and investigations led to the woman’s house, where the firearm was recovered on Sunday.
Mohlala said: “The investigation in tracing the robbed firearm led the team to a certain house in Shatale Zone One, and at about 14:50, they arrived at the place where they found a woman.”
After searching the house, they recovered one Z88 9mm pistol, and its magazine with three live rounds hidden inside a wardrobe. The woman was arrested and charged with possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
She is expected to appear in the Bushbuckridge Magistrate’s Court. Mohlala said police were still pursuing the two men who robbed the officer.
