Africa-Press – South-Africa. A 64-year-old man is accused of stabbing a 53-year-old man and then stabbing his own daughter and teen grandchildren in Verkeerdevlei in the Free State on Tuesday.
Man arrested for allegedly stabbing girlfriend’s suspected lover to death
According to Free State police spokesperson, Captain Stephen Thakeng, the man used a pair of sheep shears to stab the 53-year-old man.
Thakeng added:
It is alleged that he then held his 36-year-old daughter and two grandchildren, aged 13 and 15, hostage for more than four hours in a three-roomed shack, and that he used the same shears to stab them.
A Tactical Response Team, led by Captain Junior Santi, eventually rescued them.
The man is expected to appear in the Brandfort Magistrate’s Court on Thursday for attempted murder, and assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
