Africa-Press – South-Africa. A man who walked into a police station in Mpumalanga to check on his prospects of getting a job in the police force landed up behind bars instead, when it emerged that he was wanted.
The 40-year-old had been on the run from Bethal police since September 2015, according to Mpumalanga police spokesperson Brigadier Selvy Mohlala.
Mohlala said the man was sought in connection with allegations that he redirected hardware material worth R20 000 to another address without permission.
Mohlala said:
The manager reported him to Bethal police, who have been searching for him ever since.
On Monday, he was arrested when he went to the police station to enquire about an application he had made as part of a police recruitment drive.
He was expected to appear in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.
