Africa-Press – South-Africa. Two people have been killed and two more seriously injured after a car crashed into a petrol station in Malvern, Durban on Saturday.

It’s alleged that the car lost control on Stella road before crashing into a Shell garage just after 17:00.

According to Advanced Life Support (ALS) paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, a man in his 40’s was confirmed deceased on the scene, while two others were seriously injured.

“Another passenger [a man in his 60’s] was found severely entrapped in the vehicle with critical injuries,” added Jamieson.

ALS tried to stabilise him in the wreckage while the Ethekwini Fire Department used the jaws of life and other hydraulic equipment to try and free him.

Once they freed the man, he was rushed to a nearby Durban hospital, however, on arrival at the hospital he went into cardiac arrest and despite ALS efforts, he was declared deceased at the hospital.
