Africa-Press – South-Africa. A 37-year-old man facing seven counts of rape abandoned his bail application in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court in KwaZulu-Natal on Monday.

The alleged rapist was charged in connection with the rape of three boys, aged between 11 and 15, from one family.

It’s understood that the accused is an amateur soccer coach operating in the Ntuzuma township, north of Durban.

National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson, Natasha Kara, said the man is accused of raping the boys from November 2022 to March 2023.

He cannot be named to protect the identities of the minor victims.

He was arrested last week and made his first court appearance on 16 May.

Colonel Robert Netshiunda, KZN police spokesperson, told News24 that they have added counts of sexual assault against the accused, but did not specify how many.

Meanwhile, the NPA said the total number of victims had not yet been finalised and more details may emerge at his next court appearance on Friday.
