Ramaphosa says it's disappointing that the Israel Defence Force continues to invade Gaza's southern city of Rafah

Africa-Press – South-Africa. African National Congress (ANC) president Cyril Ramaphosa said that its disappointing that the Israel Defence Force continues to invade Gaza’s southern city of Rafah, where hundreds of Palestinians are sheltered.

Ramaphosa was speaking at the ANC headquarters in Johannesburg, where the party hosted Irish political party, Sinn Fein and the international Muslim community.

The South African government recently asked the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to order Israel to withdraw its troops from Rafah.

Ramaphosa said that the government will continue to approach the ICJ to raise its concerns on the ongoing war.

“We do believe that the ICJ vindicated the action that we took in terms of the order that they took. We continue to be appalled and disturbed that the state of Israel continues its attacks against the Palestinian people.”
