Africa-Press – South-Africa. Former President Jacob Zuma said the African National Congress (ANC) and Democratic Alliance (DA) were misleading the public by referring to their coalition as a government of national unity (GNU).
Zuma expressed his views on the new multi-party alliance during a media briefing in Sandton on Sunday.
He said South Africans had been tricked into believing the ANC-DA pact would appease the markets.
During the briefing, Zuma again rubbished the government of national unity.
“There is nothing. They were just misleading one another to think it’s a good thing. Other people even thought they could be together with the DA because they must put out this word ‘government of national unity.'”
