Africa-Press – South-Africa. Legal expert Mpumelelo Zikalala expects former President Jacob Zuma’s latest bid to remove State advocate Billy Downer from the arms deal corruption case will ultimately land up in the Constitutional Court.
The High Court in Pietermaritzburg dismissed his second bid to have Downer kicked off the case in March.
However, the case came before the High Court in Pietermaritzburg on Thursday, when it was confirmed that he had now lodged an application for leave to appeal that decision.
“I think it’s going to travel the same manner, the same process, which the previous application travelled up until it comes back in the Constitutional Court,” Zikalala said.
“If Mr Zuma’s not successful he will keep on going up, up until he gets to the Constitutional Court.”
