Ramaphosa says 100 days of the GNU is about reflection not celebration

Africa-Press – South-Africa. The African National Congress said that it is willing to implement its transformational agenda despite operating in a 10-party coalition government.

The party held an event outside its Luthuli House offices in Johannesburg on Monday to mark 100 days of the Government of National Unity (GNU).

The GNU was formed by the ANC after it lost its majority in the 2024 general elections.

Despite the jovial mood from the hundreds of ANC, party President Cyril Ramaphosa said that the day is about reflection and not celebration.

Ramaphosa said that the ANC went into the GNU knowing full well it had ideological and policy differences with many of its partners.

Meanwhile, the the ANC’s tripartite alliance partners the SACP and Cosatu have boycotted the event in protest against the GNU.

“The ANC will continue to lead the fundamental transformation of society.” – ANC President, Cde Cyri Ramaphosa
