Africa-Press – South-Africa. The final countdown to the 2024 matric exams has begun.

Seventy-five thousand, six hundred and forty-seven candidates will write the National Senior Certificate exams in the Western Cape this year.

The exams begin on Monday, with more than 66,000 candidates writing English Home Language, First Additional Language, or Second Additional Language in the morning sitting.

Western Cape Education MEC David Maynier: “One hundred and twenty-three examination papers will be written at 474 exam centres before the exams end on Wednesday, the 27th of November. The scale of the matric exams poses a mammoth administrative challenge and we appreciate the tremendous effort of the Western Cape Education Department’s officials and school staff in ensuring that exams run smoothly and fairly.”
