KZN GPU defends coalition, says it’s the best option for service delivery

Africa-Press – South-Africa. Parties in the KwaZulu-Natal Government of Provincial Unity (GPU) have defended their coalition, saying it’s the best option for service delivery.

This after the uMkhonto we Sizwe (MK) Party tabled a motion to debate whether the GPU works or not.

The MK Party argued that the coalition arrangement was not what residents in the province wanted, saying the residents voted for the MK Party in numbers.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) also backed the MK’s motion, saying the coalition running the provincial government was not the choice of the voters.

Former President Jacob Zuma’s MK Party believes that it should be the one running the KZN provincial government as they received 45% of the votes.

In its debate in the legislature, the party questioned what the GPU had done in its first 100 days in office.

The Democratic Alliance’s Martin Meyer said a lot had been achieved since the GPU took over.
