Africa-Press – South-Africa. The City of Cape Town’s traffic services are on high alert as the Easter weekend comes to an end.
Traffic officers are continuing to manage and monitor traffic coming in and out of the city and are ensuring that the public remains safe when travelling.
Traffic spokesperson Maxine Bezuidenhout reminds road users to stay safe and visible
“Please also be on the lookout for pedestrians or other obstructions – we’ve had numerous pedestrian accidents this weekend. If you are walking, make sure you face oncoming traffic and are visible, and only cross at roadways where it is safe to do so,” said Bezuidenhout.
Bezuidenhout added that motorists must stick to the speed limit and practice responsible driving.
“Motorists are reminded that we are conducting speed checks as well as vehicle checkpoints – officers are also deployed along the major arterials to lend assistance,” said Bezuidenhout.
