Africa-Press – South-Africa. The MK Party said it had moved past the removal of Floyd Shivhambu as its secretary-general, saying it would not speak on the matter again.
Shivhambu was removed from party senior leadership and redeployed to Parliament.
The party said that he was to account to the MK Party high command before the decision was taken.
It is unclear at this stage who will replace him or act in the meantime.
The MK Party has changed secretary-generals five times since its formation back in December 2023.
Shivhambu becomes the latest official to be thrown out of the post and while the party is yet to appoint a replacement for him, it said it would not engage further on its decision to remove him.
MK Party head of presidency, Magsela Mzobe: “The understanding is that no one in the leadership after this will make any comment or discussions around the matter and comrade Floyd has accepted, as well, that on his side we are not commenting.”
He added that the party would now shift its focus to its activities and programmes.
