Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Western Cape Network on Disability has managed to halt the implementation of a reduced Dial-a-Ride service in Cape Town.
An interdict was granted by the Western Cape High Court on Friday.
It ordered that the service return to its full form from now until the appeal is heard.
The network approached the court after the City announced it would downscale the service, effective from 8 September.
Chairperson of the network, Michelle Botha, said they’ve been ordered to submit a review application by the 10th of October.
“So the review will be submitted by the Western Cape Network on Disability. We brought the original application, and with support from the people’s legal centre, are supporting us with lodging that review.”
