Africa-Press – South-Africa. The African National Congress (ANC) in Johannesburg said disgruntled coalition partners who want Dada Morero removed as mayor should raise their grievances internally.
On Thursday, another attempt to remove Morero from the office fell flat, after the coalition asked Al Jama-ah to withdraw the motion.
Despite Al Jama-ah being part of the coalition, they sponsored the bid for his removal, citing a lack of confidence in him.
ANC regional secretary Sasabona Manganye said coalition disagreements must be dealt with internally and not through motions of no confidence.
“As partners, we can’t raise grievances through motions of no confidence. Platforms to raise whatever grievance they have about the executive mayor will be created but a motion of no confidence is not an option.”
