Africa-Press – South-Africa. Justice, Crime Prevention and Security (JCPS) Cluster officials have encouraged the public to report more crime in the Western Cape.
The JCPS is hosting a ministerial imbizo at Dulcie September Hall in Athlone on Tuesday related to its efforts to combat crime in the country.
The engagement forms part of the cluster’s Integrated Crime and Violence Prevention Strategy, with a specific focus on gangsterism, murder, and gender-based violence in the Western Cape.
Western Cape Police Commissioner, Thembesile Patekile, today asked Athlone residents to use the 10111 phone number to report more crime.
Patekile was addressing the community at Dulcie September Hall, where the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster is hosting a ministerial imbizo in Athlone today related to its efforts to combat crime in the country.
“Tell us where it happens, where is it happening. We’ve got our ways… I want to thank the community for using that number. Please use it more,” Patekile said.
The JCPS officials are set to proceed to Athlone police station and magistrates’ court for an oversight visit as part of their pre-SONA activities.
