Madlanga Commission takes recess

Africa-Press – South-Africa. The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry is going into recess for two weeks.

The commission held its last hearing on Tuesday and will resume on 7 April.

The commission began its work in September last year, looking into possible criminal infiltration into the country’s law enforcement system.

To date, 49 witnesses have testified and it has produced one interim report.

“It’s also important for us to say that we are encouraged by the fact that quite a number of individuals are still coming forward with information and assisting the commission in achieving its mandate,” said the commission spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels.
