Africa-Press – South-Africa. A woman who sells fruit along the R71 road going to Moria city in Limpopo said the business has supported three generations of her family.
The 32-year-old Brenda Masedi said her sales skyrocket during peak times such as the current easter holidays where millions of ZCC church goers are travelling.
She is situated meters away from the main place of worship along a long row of other street vendors selling food, crafts and everyday essentials.
Brenda Masedi said the business of selling oranges, avocados and sugar canes was started by her parents in 1994.
She said her parents were taught how to trade young and imparted their knowledge onto her which she is now teaching her children.
Masedi said she and her five siblings were raised with the money from the business.
She added this week has been lucrative since some churchgoers started arriving from Wednesday.
“We all were all raised by the profits of this business and even my children are now learning how business works that’s why I always say the easter period and other holidays are important because they boost our businesses,” said Masedi.
She added she anticipates that all her stock will sell out.
