Africa-Press – South-Africa. President Cyril Ramaphosa said South Africa must look to the church as a moral compass to tackle social ills and division.
He was speaking at the service of the St Engenas Zion Christian Church on Sunday in Moria in Limpopo.
On Sunday, he joined thousands of congregants and dignitaries from various government departments for the last day of the Easter pilgrimage.

Ramaphosa said the church is seen as the moral compass that helps provide the government with direction when it comes to dealing with issues faced by citizens
He asked why it is important for the church and government to work hand in hand.
Ramaphosa said this includes confronting issues such as inequality, unemployment and poverty, which are issues the country is grappling with.
“Here, we don’t only get good prayers, we also get good counsel because his eminence, his grace is a servant of the people, and I call him and other religious leaders the chief servants of the people.”
He said the government learns a lot from the church about which values to adhere to.
