Africa-Press – South-Africa. President Cyril Ramaphosa has appointed Justice Nambitha Dambuza-Mayosi and Justice Katharine Savage as judges of the Constitutional Court.
The appointments take effect from the first of next month.
The Presidency said the move followed consultations with Chief Justice Mandisa Maya and leaders of political parties in the National Assembly.
Judge Dambuza-Mayosi has served in the Supreme Court of Appeal since 2015, including a period as acting president of that court.
Meanwhile, Judge Savage has been on the Western Cape High Court bench since 2015 and has served on the Labour Appeal Court since 2024.
President Ramaphosa wished both judges well in their new roles at the country’s highest court.
Presidency spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said: “Judge Dambuza-Mayosi and Judge Savage have for decades served the cause and practice of justice with great diligence, foresight and, most importantly, clear commitment to our Constitution.”
