arrested in Vredenburg after they were found in possession of crayfish tails<\/p>\n

worth over R1 million.The suspects, aged 36 and 19, were arrested on<\/p>\n

Friday on the Paternoster Road.Western Cape police spokesperson, Sergeant Wesley<\/p>\n

Twigg, said that the West Coast Flying Squad had received information about a<\/p>\n

white Ford Ranger with two occupants transporting the crayfish tails.The vehicle was spotted and pulled over.READ | 9 arrested in Cape Town for allegedly poaching protected<\/p>\n

plants in interprovincial operation”Upon searching the vehicle, the members found<\/p>\n

bags filled with crayfish tails in the back of the vehicle,” Twigg said.A total of 17 534 tails with an estimated street<\/p>\n

value of R1.1 million were counted.The suspects are due to make a court appearance in<\/p>\n

the Vredenburg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.Damaging essential infrastructureIn a separate incident, a 64-year-old man was<\/p>\n

arrested in Riebeeck West at noon on Friday for the possession of stolen<\/p>\n

property and damaging essential infrastructure.Twigg said that they had received information about<\/p>\n

copper cables at an address.Stolen copper<\/p>\n

of copper cables.<\/p>\n

The man could not give a valid reason for having<\/p>\n

them in his possession.He will appear in the Riebeeck West Magistrate’s<\/p>\n
