Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini has been granted R1 500 bail in his housebreaking and malicious damage to property case in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Ruby Mathys also ordered him to surrender his passport and to refrain from contacting the complainant in the case.<\/p>\n

Heavy police presence ahead of Nhlanhla ‘Lux’ Dlamini’s court appearance<\/p>\n

Although his surname was known as Dlamini all along, court documents have revealed that it is in fact Mohlaoli.<\/p>\n

Dlamini\u2019s lawyer, advocate Ike Khumalo, said charges against his client were frivolous.<\/p>\n

“We are happy that he has been released. He was not supposed to be arrested. He is always accompanied by the police wherever he is conducting his duties. How do you accuse him of even trespassing when he is always in the company of the police?” Khumalo asked.<\/p>\n

If the charges were real, Dlamini would have been arrested on the spot, he said.<\/p>\n

Dlamini is facing charges of housebreaking, theft and malicious damage to property. Khumalo added that the case was weak and would not even go to trial.<\/p>\n

Patriotic Alliance leader Kenny Kunene added that politicians had orchestrated charges against Dlamini.<\/p>\n

“There is no case against Dlamini. This is a politically motivated arrest and incarceration. We have allowed the law to take its course. Many things indicate that some people are behind his arrest.<\/p>\n

“We are fully behind him. We have been chanting slogans outside the Johannesburg Central police station,” Kunene said.<\/p>\n

Dlamini is expected back in the Roodepoort Magistrate\u2019s Court on 27 May.<\/p>\n
