Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Wales wing Josh Adams could have and should have been on the receiving end of Liam Williams’s pass in last year’s third British & Irish Lions Test against the Springboks at the Cape Town Stadium.<\/p>\n

Williams didn’t pass, the Lions’ lead stayed at 10-3, and the Boks roared back to win the third Test 19-16, and with it the series 2-1.<\/p>\n

Williams and Adams are Welsh teammates and in last week’s 13-12 win in the second Test against the Springboks in Bloemfontein last week, Adams showed what he could have done if he received that pass.<\/p>\n

Adams, who could and should start for the Welsh in Saturday’s third Test against the Springboks at the Cape Town Stadium, said his mind is in the present and not in the past.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s the same stadium as well, but I hope things go better than they did last year,” Adams said. “South Africa is a great side and they’ve shown that over the past two Tests. Both games have been close and I have no doubt it’ll be the same again on Saturday.<\/p>\n

“It’s important that we focus our minds on becoming the first Welsh side to win a Test series here, so it’s important we focus on that.”<\/p>\n

Adams also scored against the Springboks in Wales’ 19-16 loss to the Springboks in the 2019 Rugby World Cup semi-final in Yokohama.<\/p>\n

Ever the optimist, Adams looked at that game as one that contained a set of different circumstances and time, along with other results that have passed since that game.<\/p>\n

“I don’t see it that way as I see this as a totally different series of events,” Adams said.<\/p>\n

“This is our summer series here and I think the most important part for us is that it’s a different squad and there are different players.<\/p>\n

“The most important thing now is the here and now, which includes this Saturday.”<\/p>\n

Adams called on the rest of his teammates to be sharp enough to put away any chances that may come their way.<\/p>\n

“With some chances, we have been disappointed and when you look back over the two Tests, there were opportunities we didn’t quite take,” Adams said.<\/p>\n

“It’s frustrating for us as backs, so this week, we’ll try to be as clinical as we can be and take the chances as and when they come.”<\/p>\n
