Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>A Durban woman was arrested on a murder charge after allegedly stabbing her husband in the neck, police said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The 27-year-old woman was arrested earlier this week in connection with the attack on her husband at their home in Tongaat.<\/p>\n

“It is alleged that on [Saturday] at 18:15 a 34-year-old man and the suspect were at their place of residence in Buffelsdale in Tongaat when an argument ensued.<\/p>\n

“The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck and fled the scene. The victim was taken to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries,” police spokesperson Constable Thenjiswa Ngcobo said.<\/p>\n

Prem Balram, the head of private security company Reaction Unit South Africa, said they went to the scene and “found residents providing first aid to the man, who was bleeding extensively from a penetrating wound to his neck”.<\/p>\n

“Paramedics from a private ambulance service arrived shortly thereafter and stabilised the critically injured male before transporting him to hospital. He succumbed to his injuries later that evening,” Balram added.<\/p>\n

He said the woman fled the scene but handed herself over to police this week.<\/p>\n

“The couple’s [underage] child was allegedly present at the time of the incident,” Balram said.<\/p>\n

The woman appeared in court on Tuesday and would remain in custody until her next appearance.<\/p>\n
