Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Cape Town activist and ANC politician Andile Lili will have to wait a little longer to hear what sentence he will get for inciting violence outside the Bellville Magistrate’s Court.<\/p>\n

Lili is also known as one of the “poo throwers” who highlighted poor sanitation in parts of Cape Town by throwing buckets of sewage water with faeces on floors in public places.<\/p>\n

In May, he was found guilty of inciting supporters of the Ses’khona People’s Movement to kill murderers and rapists.<\/p>\n

He was also found guilty of violating the Illegal Gatherings Act and assault common.<\/p>\n

Lili was convicted for attending an illegal gathering outside the court on 12 August 2014; and on 28 July 2015, inciting members of the Ses’khona People’s Movement to murder.<\/p>\n

One of the poo-flinging incidents was at the entrance to Cape Town International Airport. Lili and eight others were charged with violating the Civil Aviation Act and sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, suspended for five years.<\/p>\n

He emerged from court, addressed supporters outside, and complained about South Africa’s justice system, saying it was biased against the poor.<\/p>\n

He felt there was a lack of action against rapists and murderers and told supporters that they should kill such people if they saw them walking in the street.<\/p>\n

On Friday, the Bellville Magistrate’s Court was supposed to hear a pre-sentencing report and then hand down sentence.<\/p>\n

However, National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Eric Ntabazalila said Lili’s attorney withdrew.<\/p>\n

“The case has now been postponed until 17 August 2022 for a new attorney,” Ntabazalila said.<\/p>\n

News24 earlier reported that the ANC had referred Lili to the party’s integrity commission.<\/p>\n

He is a member of the provincial legislature of the Western Cape.<\/p>\n
