Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>A pupil died and seven others were injured after being hit by a school bus in Sebokeng on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The pupils, from Dinokaneng Secondary School in Vanderbijlpark, were hit by the same bus they were supposed to board.<\/p>\n

According to Gauteng Department of Education spokesperson Steve Mabona, the pupils were reportedly hit at a pickup point while waiting to board the bus to get to school.<\/p>\n

He said the pupils were rushed to a local medical facility.<\/p>\n

Mabona said:<\/p>\n

Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.<\/p>\n

“We wish to convey our sincerest condolences to the family of the deceased and the school community at large. We wish the learners affected by this incident a speedy recovery,” said Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi.<\/p>\n
