Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>Two men were arrested in connection with the murder of a petrol attendant, whose body was found in a drain behind the petrol station he worked at in Hendrina, Mpumalanga.<\/p>\n

The men, aged 24 and 27, were arrested on Thursday evening, Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli said.<\/p>\n

Providing further details, he said police were alerted when the petrol station manager grew concerned about an unusual smell coming from a drain behind the premises.<\/p>\n

“He (the manager) then went out to investigate and the drain lid was opened where a gruesome discovery of a half-naked body of a human being was made,” Mdhluli said.<\/p>\n

“The police as well as other roleplayers were summoned to the scene. A murder case was then opened after it was established through forensic aid that the victim had been murdered. Police immediately began with the probe [and] a team of experts in the field of investigation was assembled.”<\/p>\n

The body was determined to be that of Lifa Yinda, 39, who worked at the petrol station.<\/p>\n

His family identified him.<\/p>\n

His co-workers hadn’t seen him for a week, but had not reported him missing.<\/p>\n

Mdhluli said the motive for the murder was unknown.<\/p>\n
