The Gauteng High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday heard grim details of how a couple on the East Rand allegedly sexually abused their children.<\/p>\n

The couple also allegedly made several threats to their children if they ever told anyone about what they called “ugly things”, a forensic social worker testified on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The couple has pleaded not guilty to charges of grooming and using their children for sexual acts.<\/p>\n

The accused, who cannot be named to protect their children’s identities, allegedly raped and sexually assaulted their children for several years.<\/p>\n

The two – aged 41 and 31 – face 42 charges.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, the court heard that the pair lived in a one-bedroom flat with their four children – three girls and a boy – in Kempton Park, Gauteng. They shared a bed with their children.<\/p>\n

The parents were charged with sexual acts they allegedly performed on their girls, now aged 12, 9 and 8, and not their son because he was young at the time and would not be able to testify.<\/p>\n

The father allegedly committed several acts of sexual penetration with one of his daughters, who was 7 to 10 years old at the time.<\/p>\n
