Africa-Press – South-Africa. <\/strong><\/span>The search for a missing Fish Hoek woman came to a tragic end last week when her body was found in the Clovelly wetlands.<\/p>\n

Melanie Anne Stenger (57) went missing on Sunday 29 January.<\/p>\n

In social media posts family members, including her daughter, requested assistance with a search to find her.<\/p>\n

\u201cCommunity, please help. My mother went missing in the Fish Hoek\/Clovelly area on Saturday 28 January.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast known whereabouts leaving Spar Valleyland at 13:00, leaving towards her flat in Clovelly.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a high-risk case; please be on the lookout for her and share any information with me. We have opened an inquest at Fish Hoek police and an investigation is underway. We are afraid she might be hurt,\u201d wrote Samantha Grobbelaar.<\/p>\n

In another social media post Ruda Herselam, a family member, wrote that they desperately need help.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy aunt has gone missing and we desperately need help searching. We believe she may have gone into the Silvermine Nature Reserve area.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need more people on foot looking for her.<\/p>\n

Her loved ones have been searching since Monday, but the area is big and we need more eyes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe haven\u2019t organised a formal search party but are doing all that we can.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf anyone can assist with organising a search party it would be appreciated. We don\u2019t know where to begin.\u201d<\/p>\n

Herselam later thanked everyone for their concern and assistance when the family was notified that a body had unfortunately been found.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with deep regret that I must inform you that Melanie\u2019s body has been found.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to thank everyone for all their help, prayers and well wishes during this difficult time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe ask you to keep the family in your prayers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you, everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fish Hoek Police Station commander Lt Col Jackie Johnson confirmed that Stenger\u2019s body was found on Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe went missing on Sunday 29 January and was last seen according to video footage in Hilton Road, Clovelly, on Sunday 29 January at 06:47.<\/p>\n

She was reported missing on Monday 30 January.\u201d<\/p>\n

Johnson added that the body was found \u201cin the bush\u201d at the Clovelly wetlands on Tuesday 31 January 19:00.\u201d<\/p>\n

No foul play is suspected.<\/p>\n
