In a tight contest played in wet conditions, both teams impressed with some resolute defence.<\/p>\n

However, a try on the stroke of half-time by Christie Grobbelaar gave South Africa a 5-0 lead at the break.<\/p>\n

The Blitzboks kept plugging away in the second stanza and secured the win when Ricardo Duarttee scored late on.<\/p>\n

In their other Pool B matches, the Blitzboks will tackle Uruguay (01:02 SA time) and Ireland (05:03 SA time) on Sunday.<\/p>\n
